Consultant - LLB
Born and raised in Northland, Clive graduated from Auckland University in 1974. He has practiced in Dargaville, Auckland and now Whangarei. After starting out in Auckland as a graduate he then spent 6 years practising in Dargaville before taking a break from the law to be a full time farmer in the area. He then returned to the law in Auckland and since 1988 has practised as a commercial lawyer with an emphasis on property acquisitions, leasing, farming and tax effective business structures. His clients range from farming through to high fashion, international yachting and the hospitality industries.
Clive’s specialty area of interest is now in farming related matters and business structures. This particularly relates to farming transactions, business structures and estate planning. He and his family have owned dairy, beef, sheep and deer farms and this has led to his special interest in farming. As a Consultant working on a part time basis he now works mainly with other Lawyers at WRMK advising on projects.
Outside of the law Clive is a director of a Bio-Tech research company linked with the University of Queensland. The company is at the cutting edge of research into brain diseases and in particular Motor Neuron disease and Alzheimers. His other areas of interest is progressing the Hundertwasser Art Centre with the Wairau Maori Art Gallery in Whangarei. He is a senior member of the team co-ordinating fundraising for the project with the specific task of dealing with Central Government funding bodies.
